Your Must-Do December holiday Guide: What To Do In Singapore this School Holiday!

The year-end school holidays have begun! With the ease of Covid-19 restrictions and travel borders, this holiday has seen many families travelling to popular destinations like Japan and Korea. However, the holiday rush also means exorbitant prices on flights and hotel stays, and many still have opted to remain in Singapore for the festive season.

If you are in Singapore this holiday, why not introduce your kids to some new experiences locally? Here are a few holiday activity ideas for your children’s enrichment and enjoyment, or for a fun family day out!

Camp Asia Winter Camps (19 December 2022 to 13 January 2023)

Camp Asia is a holiday camp program that offers a wide selection of activities and camp types of children of all ages. From chef camp to parkour and gymnastics, your kids will have the opportunity to experience new and exciting activities. These camps are perfect for children to develop new interests, pick up new skills, and make new friends while having a fun time. Camp Asia is currently offering Winter Camps this holiday, so sign your child up for a memorable experience!

Island Wanderer (All Year Round)

Looking for outdoor activities to try with your smart kids? Island Wanderer's escape trails require players to solve puzzles to be guided around an area of choice! You will be given access to a private chatbot and assigned a mission. This chatbot will then use puzzles to guide you around the area. Through Island Wanderer’s escape trails, you can explore Singapore’s murals, gardens, and heritage sites with your friends and family without the boring speeches given by tour guides!

Outdoor School Singapore Year-end Holiday Camps 2022 (21 November2022 to 6 January 2023)

If you have young kids aged 5-9, Outdoor School Singapore has a selection of exciting events lined up this holiday for them. Outdoor School provides ecologically focused programs for children to explore the green spaces on our little island. Your kids can go on a child-led rescue mission, pick up skills and develop their resilience and grit, and also improve their ecological awareness, empathy and intelligence through the wide range of workshops, day-trips and camps that Outdoor School offers.

Space Fest @Expo (3 to 30 December 2022)

Space Fest @ Expo is an outer space themed festival held for the first time at Singapore Expo. The event is similar to a pop-up theme park, with multiple curated activities across three separated zones including workshops, VR experiences, a mobile 5D cinema and more! While the children play in Singapore’s largest inflatable theme park, you will be able to enjoy the space-themed retail and food pop-ups, as well as live screenings of the World Cup matches!

Avatar : The Experience (28 October to 31 March 2023)

The Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay welcomes the holiday season, this time with an Avatar-themed exhibition. Fans of the Avatar movie will be able to immerse themselves in the world of Pandora, with the Cloud Forest featuring the unique flora and fauna of the movie’s world. There are also interactive elements to the exhibition, such as a booth where you can “avatarize” yourself and a hut where you can participate in a Na’vi ritual. For families who love Avatar, this exhibition is the perfect place to spend a magical weekend together!
